Syma Drones

Syma Product Selection

Syma has been producing drones, quadcopters and helicopters for more than ten years. Their products are sold at Target, Kmart, Walmart, Amazon.com, and Toys R Us, all predominately online. Their product lines are split into three main categories: drones, FPV drones and helicopters.

Drones

Unmanned aerial vehicles controlled by a user on the ground, drones typically have four blades on balanced corners for stability and control. Syma’s line of drones is vast, 21 in total. Some are quite small, meant for fast movement in small spaces and others are larger with sturdy feet to land safely. In all 21 cases, Syma’s aircraft are made for quick distance flight.

Six-axis controlling technology allows these drones to fly faster at longer flight times than other vehicles. Units are equipped with flashing lights for nighttime travel and blade protectors to prevent damage from collisions. The transmitters have a 360-degree button to allow for complete turning in any direction, including a full spin.

FPV Drones

FPV stands for first-person view and describes a drone that offers the user an immersive flying experience. The drones are equipped with a camera which sends video feed to the user’s mobile phone giving them a view akin to what they might see were they flying inside of the unit. The handheld transmitter comes equipped with a bracket to safely hold most mobile phones while the operator can use the joystick and controller to navigate while following along on the screen.

While Syma’s line of FPV drones varies in specs from model to model, their key features remain the same. Each vehicle has four blades allowing for movement in any direction as well as tumbling. A camera installed on the body of the drone provides the first-person view and can capture both photo and video footage. Using barometric pressure, the unit can hover in the air with enough stability to avoid blurry videos and photos. 

A key feature of the FPV drones is Syma’s mobile control software, the Syma Go application. The app allows for viewing of the video footage as well as aircraft controls beyond those available on the transmitter alone. The Waypoint Control feature lets the user trace a route on the screen that the vehicle will follow. Gravity Control mode allows for operation of the drone by tilting the mobile phone in any direction for an intuitive, videogame-like experience.

Helicopters

Syma offers five double bladed helicopters to round out its radio-controlled aerial vehicle production. Operated using a handheld transmitter, helicopters use gyro direction stabilization to adjust their blade spin constantly allowing for a stable flight that is easier for the user to manage. Colorful flashing lights make the helicopters easy to spot day or night. Each unit powers off on its own should the blades encounter reverberation from colliding with a foreign object. The individual units differ in size, flight time, battery capacity and other similar details.
